Netflix has been leading the pack in terms of original streaming animated series as the animation industry heats up. With the recent release of “Dota: Dragon’s Blood,” a video game adaptation of “Dota 2,” fans may be reminded of another Netflix dragon tale, “The Dragon Prince.” Season 3 has been out for about a year and a half, so here’s what we know so far regarding Season 4.
“The Dragon Prince” was originally planned as a seven-season series, which co-creators Justin Richmond and Aaron Ehasz (“Avatar: The Last Airbender”) confirmed will be completed at Comic-Con@Home in 2020. It’s a grand story about a conflict between humans and elves over the usage of dark magic versus natural magic.
The young human princes Callum (Jack DeSena) and Ezran (Sasha Rojen) are at the core of the war, attempting to return the dragon prince’s egg to his mother with the help of the elf assassin Rayla (Paula Burrows). Moon, Sun, and Sky are the names of the first three seasons, and Earth is the fourth.

When will Season 4 of The Dragon Prince premiere?
Season 4 of “The Dragon Prince” has not yet been scheduled for release. On January 28, the creators tweeted an update: “Since the complete Saga was green-lit, our team has been working tirelessly to offer you the next chapter of The Dragon Prince with care, passion, and imagination.
While the epidemic has had an impact on all aspects of the process, the reality is that large-scale projects always take a long time. We’re working on the story and scripts, putting together the production team, and creating new and fascinating Xadia regions for you to explore. Although we are unable to provide an exact date for Season 4, we can assure you that the new seasons will be well worth the wait.”
Who will appear in Season 4 of The Dragon Prince?
Little information regarding Season 4 has been released aside from the 2020 Comic-Con@Home panel, but fans should expect the main cast to return. Jack DeSena, who is well known for his role as Sokka in “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” voices the human prince Callum. Rayla, a teenage Moonshadow elf assassin, is played by Paula Burrows, while Ezran, the recently appointed King of Katolis, is played by Sasha Rojen.
We do know that Aaravos, the old, fallen Startouch elf voiced by “Elder Scrolls” voice actor Erik Dellums, will become increasingly important in the future. In addition, the siblings Claudia (Raquel Belmonte) and Soren (Jesse Inocalla) as well as their father Viren (Jason Simpson) will have to return to complete the story.
The series will almost certainly introduce new characters in addition to the existing cast. However, no details on who that person could be have been released. However, other voice actors, rather than well-known faces, are more likely to be cast in “The Dragon Prince.”
What does The Dragon Prince Season 4 have in store for us?
Season 4 will begin after the struggle between the elves and humans for the title of dragon prince. The imprisoned magician Aaravos, whose odd caterpillar form has recently entered transformation, will be key to the tale, according to co-creator Aaron Ehasz. In 2019, Ehasz spoke to Inverse “The following two seasons will focus on figuring out who Aaravos was, who they thought he was, how they understood what was going on, and how they imprisoned him… Healing and rebuilding the planet will be difficult, particularly now that Aaravos, who may have been one of the unknown powers that pushed the world into this condition, appears to be on the verge of returning or attempting to return to the globe.”
So far, he’s been a cunning enemy, manipulating Viren, the human dark wizard, to do his bidding. After his caterpillar form emerges from its cocoon, he should acquire power. Claudia, Viren’s daughter, joins him at the end of Season 3 and will become a “critically significant driving force of the narrative in Season 4,” according to Ehasz. Furthermore, co-creator Justin Richmond stated that future episodes will take the plot to new locations in Xadia, so fans can expect interesting new settings for the characters.
When it comes to Rayla and Callum, who have finished their task of delivering Azymondias, the dragon prince, to his mother, Season 4 will have to answer the question “what now?” The duo will almost certainly play a role in the ongoing struggle between humans and elves.
