Have you heard of the Apple Maps? Well, we won’t blame you if you haven’t. The beginning of the app was not a hit at all. During the early days after the launch of Apple Maps, it was a disaster. The app caused many drivers to go to the wrong locations. Also, the user interface of the app had issues, which made the entire map look crooked.
Of course, the Cupertino-based tech behemoth has come a long way from that and now they have also announced their plans for improving the Apple Maps further and collecting data worldwide.
So, Apple is traveling the entire world in order to collect data for the system. The firm has shared all the details, including time and date, of the tour on its website. “Apple is driving vehicles around the world to collect data which will be used to improve Apple Maps. Some of this data will be published in future Apple Maps updates,” informed the firm.
Since roads keep changing from time to time and also new streets are built every day, Apple needs these pieces of information to continuously update the app. Rumors have it that Apple is doing all these also to develop their own Street View-like feature.
