Bush and Chad Michael Murray fell in love after meeting on the set of One Tree Hill in 2003.
“She’s wonderful, compassionate, bright, and she makes me happy,” the Cinderella Story actress added of Bush.
The couple married in 2005 after a brief romance, but he soon began doing promotion for House of Wax.
“Trust me, I didn’t want to spend my honeymoon on a junket,” he told The Buffalo News six days after his wedding. “I hate being here, but we’ll make it work. We have work to accomplish right now.”
He also gushed over his ex-wife. “It was the best day of my life. It was amazing. Lovely lady. “Our California wedding was perfect,” he remarked. Her. She improves me.”
Sadly, the couple’s romance died out just five months after they married. They worked together for years on One Tree Hill, which was not easy.
“At the end of the day, we’re grownups,” she stated on What Happens Live With Andy Cohen in 2014. But when you have to work with someone for another half-decade, you kind of have to cope with it. After all, my job is my priority. So I guess it let me let go at the end.”
It was also difficult to continue on the show, as Bush explained on Dax Shepard’s “Armchair Expert” podcast. It was “really horribly inappropriate” for producers to treat both actors after their breakup, she said.
“There was no room to think. They did terrible TV commercials about it. In 2018, the False Positive celebrity revealed, “They took advantage of people’s personal life.” Other actors on the show would relate highly personal things that were happening in their life, which would end up in plot lines. “Not OK.”
Sophia Bush wants to put her relationship to Chad Michael Murray behind her.
On Tuesday’s episode of Michael Rosenbaum’s “Inside of You” podcast, the 39-year-old actress stated why she prefers not to discuss her prior relationship with Murray, 39, while the two were costars on One Tree Hill.
Bush declined to address her brief marriage to Murray after noting how common it is for costars to date one another in Hollywood, adding, “It’s not worth my time.”
“Oh, I’m not going to bring him up. I’m not permitted to because I’ve tried to make fun of being a foolish child before, and every time I do, it turns into I’m saying s—- about someone I don’t even know, who is clearly an adult “Bush clarified. “I believe you should laugh at yourself, but when people ask me about history that includes someone else, I don’t think it’s worth my time. It’s not a place where I hold grudges or anything like that.”
After his name kept popping up in her interviews, Bush said she’s learned to set limits when it comes to answering questions about the actor.
“I’ve tried to do the thing where when I get stuck live on the air — which has happened twice — getting asked about it where I give a little, like, jazz hands quip and move on, but it just doesn’t work,” she explained.
She went on to say, “‘Do you want to tell about a stupid thing you did when you were 21, when you were effectively a senior in college?’ I’m like. I mean, I have a completely different job.”
Bush and Murray began dating in 2003 after meeting on the set of the teen drama. They married in a beachside wedding in Santa Monica in April 2005, but divorced barely five months later. In December 2006, their divorce was formalised. Murray married Sarah Roemer in 2015, and they have two children together.
Since then, the actress has moved on and is now engaged to Grant Hughes. She announced the happy news on Instagram on Tuesday, alongside a photo of her now-fiancé proposing to her on a boat during their vacation in Lake Como, Italy.
“It turns out that being your favourite person’s favourite person is the absolute best feeling on planet Earth #YES,” Bush wrote beside the adorable snapshot.
She continued, “Thank you to @comoclassicboats and @bottega53 for assisting my favourite human in planning the most wonderful, touching surprise of my life.” “My coronary artery. It shatters.”
Hughes stated in his own engagement post: “She will always be my favourite. This is my personal fave. And our lives are in the process of being built because she said ‘Yes,’ which is already my favourite. I’M SO EXCITED to spend the rest of my life with you, my love.”
