Despite Paige DeSorbo’s Warning, Amanda Batula Married Kyle Cooke
Paige DeSorbo stood by Amanda Batula as the latter’s relationship with now-husband Kyle Cooke progressed from “I don’t know” to “I do.”
In an exclusive joint interview with Page Six to promote Loverboy, Inc., the couple comments on DeSorbo’s warning to Batula, 30, following a particularly explosive battle with Cooke, 39, on the Season 6 opener.
“Paige is one of my closest friends. In my wedding, she was a bridesmaid. “We can relate on a level that a lot of people can’t because she’s one of the few people who’s also on a TV programme,” Batula adds.
“She is quite familiar with me and is aware that I am a private person. I do have a tendency to bottle things up, and when she sat me down, she was attempting to convince me that it’s OK to have these ideas and feelings.”

Fans may recall that DeSorbo, 29, told Batula that “calling off a wedding is less scary than hating your f–king life in 15 years,” and that “no matter how much you love someone, you can’t make people change.”
“She was doing her job as a good friend,” Batula recalls of her Bravo bestie, who is presently dating Craig Conover of “Southern Charm.”
“I can’t imagine how tough it must have been for her to tell me that.” That was a special time for me, and I’ll never forget it. “I wish it hadn’t had to happen, but it was truly extraordinary.”
Cooke thanks DeSorbo for addressing her worries to Batula, despite the fact that she could have prevented their wedding.
“I understand,” the merchant adds. “It’s like the question no one wants to ask,” she said as she fell to the sword. “It was difficult to watch.”
Though Cooke’s decision to remain out late and party without Batula, as well as his refusal to return numerous of her calls, led to intense disagreements at the start of filming, the two eventually chose to work through their troubles with the help of therapy.
“They couldn’t show so much more because there are only so many minutes in an hour,” Cooke explains. “It’ll sound dramatic at first, but three or four days later, we’ll sit down with a therapist and say, ‘Alright, yeah, here’s what we need to work on.'”
Before tying the married in September, Batula says she and her spouse were in a “wonderful place.” Since then, the couple has scheduled two-on-one sessions on a regular basis to keep their marriage strong.
“That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go to treatment,” she says. “I believe that’s a good incentive to keep going, because you’re reinforcing and practising those behaviours and communication abilities.”
Batula tells Page Six that DeSorbo — and the rest of her “Summer House” gal mates — never urged her to leave or make the relationship last.

“They’ve always made it obvious that no matter what I decide, they’re with me and aren’t telling me to call it off or keep it going,” she adds.
“They’re only here to serve as a sounding board and to assist me in making whatever decision I make.” They’ve always made it plain to me that no matter what happens, they’ll always have my back — and that’s what you want in your girlfriends.”
“Summer House” airs on Bravo on Mondays at 9 p.m. ET.
