Since 2013, Hakeem Sekou Jeffries has been the U.S. representative for New York’s 8th congressional district. He is an American politician and lawyer. He is a Democrat and works for a district in New York City that includes parts of eastern Brooklyn and southwestern Queens.
He was a corporate lawyer who worked for Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, then Viacom, and CBS before running for and serving in the New York State Assembly from 2007 to 2012, representing the 57th Assembly district. Since 2019, Jeffries has been in charge of the House Democrats.
He is one of the most likely people to be the minority leader of the House in 2023.
In his private life, Jeffries is married to Kennisandra Arciniegas-Jeffries, who works as a social worker for the 1199 SEIU Benefit Fund. “The next Barack and Michelle Obama” is what some of their fans have said about them.

In this post, we’ll talk about Hakeem’s wife, his kids, and other things about his personal life.
Who Is Hakeem Jeffries’ Wife?
Kennisandra has worked at 1199 SEIU‘s Benefit Fund as a social worker. A financial report from 2018 says that Worksite Medical Service PC gave Kennisandra money that year.
Kennisandra likes to stay out of sight. She doesn’t often talk to the media or share news on social media.
Hakeem and Kennisandra’s two sons are named Jeremiah and Joshua. Jeremiah was born in the year 2001, and Joshua came into the world in the year 2004. His biography says that he lives in Prospect Heights with his family. Most of the time, the children of Jeffries try to stay out of the news.
Hakeem Jeffries Might Replace Nancy Pelosi
The Democrats in the House are likely to choose New York Rep. Hakeem Jeffries to replace Nancy Pelosi as Speaker. This could make Jeffries the first Black person to lead a party in Congress, which would be a big deal.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi wouldn’t say who she would vote for on November 30 to replace her after she said Thursday that she was giving up the leadership position she had held for 20 years.

But after they both said they would step down as leaders, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer and House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn quickly backed Jeffries. This was proof that Jeffries was getting stronger.
“Speaker Pelosi has left an indelible mark on Congress and the country,” Clyburn said in a statement. I hope she stays in office, and I will do everything I can to help our next generation of Democratic leaders, who I hope will be Hakeem Jeffries, Katherine Clark, and Peter Aguilar. Democrats Jeffries, Clark, and Aguilar come from New York, Massachusetts, and California, respectively. Hoyer said that Jeffries “will make history for our country and for the House of Representatives as an institution.”
Jeffries seems to have a lot of support from the Democrats who make up the majority in the House.
