When Jocelyn Alo was still in high school, she began playing softball. Her team won three state championships, and two times she was named State High School Player of the Year.

Levi Alo, Jocelyn’s father, was a football player, and Andrea Alo, Jocelyn’s mother, was a college softball player. Alo is one of her parents’ four children; she has three sisters, Sabrina, Sophia, and Lorraine.

She hit her 96th career home run on March 11, 2022, during the Rainbow Wahine Classic in her home state of Hawaii, setting a new NCAA record, surpassing Lauren Chamberlain’s previous mark. She batted.476 in the regular season, with 24 home runs, 11 doubles, and 61 RBIs, including two grand slams. She ranked first in the country in slugging percentage 1.163 and on-base percentage (.634), and second in batting average 497 in home runs.

She was selected Big 12 Player of the Year and USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year after another stellar season. She was also named to the All-American first team by a unanimous vote. On June 4, during the second round, he hit a home run. She became the first player in NCAA Division I history to have three 30-home run seasons in the 2022 Women’s College World Series.
