Who Is Lauren Alaina Dating?
Lauren is currently dating a mystery man whom she has been seeing for approximately a year and a half. “I never posted about him or anything because he’s just mine,” she recently told Audacy’s Rob + Holly (via CMT). Jon Pardi, a fellow artist, lifelong friend, and collaborator, is someone Lauren trusts to screen potential boyfriends. This new guy seemed to be a hit with Jon.
Lauren recounted about a time Jon met someone she had just started seeing before settling down with this specific boyfriend. Lauren presented this guy to Jon at a bar in Nashville, and Jon instantly said (to his face), “I don’t like this guy.” Lauren had all the information she needed to let go of that one.
Lauren and Jon sang a beautiful duet on “Getting Over Him,” a song she composed with composers Paul DiGiovanni and Emily Weisband. It was inspired by something a friend of Lauren’s once told her: not every guy needs to be the one; sometimes they just come into your life to help you get over the last one. Lauren added, “He doesn’t have to be the one that stays here forever.”
Is Lauren Returning To ‘American Idol’ As A Contestant?
Lauren is returning to her roots as a guide during American Idol’s Hollywood Week, which kicks off on March 28. Season 6 winner Jordin Sparks, Season 7 champion David Cook, and Season 2 victor Ruben Studdard join Lauren in moulding America’s next singing phenomenon in a new promo. Lauren is the only guide who has ever finished second during her season. What went wrong?
Lauren competed against Scotty McCreery in Season 10 when she was only 15 years old, in 2011. According to Entertainment Weekly, rumours on the internet around an hour before showtime stated Lauren wasn’t feeling good enough to perform. Haley Reinhart, the second-place finisher, appeared to be in line to take her spot. The show went on, although it was a bit of a gamble.
Lauren came off stage earlier that morning and declared, “I’m not going to sing any of my notes,” according to Michael Orland, American Idol’s musical director and arranger. Michael requested that she only push one button and then whisper the rest. Lauren had apparently blown out one of her vocal chords, but the on-site doctor was able to “un-swell her vocal cords” with some medication.
We’ll never know if it’s why Lauren didn’t win that season, but she’s definitely winning now. Will she do so on Beyond the Edge as well? We’re on the verge of jumping out of our skin.
Beyond the Edge will air on CBS on March 16 at 9 p.m. EST.
