Amanda Owen, the co-host of Channel 5’s Our Yorkshire Farm, has announced her separation from her husband Clive.
Amanda, also known as the Yorkshire Shepherdess, wrote on Instagram that the decision to dissolve their 22-year marriage “hasn’t been easy.”
“We are sad to confirm that Clive and I have made the painful decision to divorce,” she said.
“It hasn’t been easy, but we both believe it is the best decision for our family’s future.”
The couple has been married since 2000 and lives on Ravenseat Farm near Richmond in North Yorkshire with their nine children.
They rose to prominence after the family’s existence on the 2,000-acre farm, where they look after about 1,000 sheep, was featured in a five-part Channel 5 reality show.
Amanda, 47, has also published books about rural life and has over 700,000 social media followers.
They issued a statement last year acknowledging they were going through a “rocky patch” in their marriage and asking for solitude. Amanda said she and her husband would continue to work together in a post on her Instagram Stories on Thursday 9 June.
“Despite the fact that we are no longer a couple, we continue to work together.”
“Although we are no longer a couple, we remain to work on the farm and founder together, with the happiness and well-being of our children as our top priority,” she explained.
She requested privacy and expressed gratitude to her admirers for their support. A Channel 5 representative said in a statement: “At this moment, we respect Amanda and Clive Owen’s privacy.
“They are an integral part of Channel 5’s family, and we will continue to collaborate with them in the future.”
Amanda Owen was escorted to the altar by the shepherd. Omen was already a parent of two children when they met in 1996.
The couple has nine children together, ranging in age from toddler to high school students. Raven, Reuben, Miles, Edith, Violet, Sidney, Annas, Clemmy, and Nancy are the children.
They hadn’t planned for such a large family, but they got by swimmingly on their sprawling hill farm.
