When Did The Third Season Of Derry Girls Finish Its Filming?

Nicola Coughlan, who plays Claire Devlin in the series, released an emotional Instagram photo at the end of 2021 that seems to signify the end of filming. Nicola shared a cute Polaroid selfie with Orla McCool co-star Louisa Harland on Instagram. She pinned two rainbow pin badges next to the adorable photo, possibly a loving nod to lesbian heroine Claire.

Her caption “Goodbye Derry Girls, it’s been quite a ride” seemed to confirm that filming had ended. We don’t cry, you do.

The epidemic forced the postponement of Derry Girls season 3 filming. On November 1, 2021, Nicola published another Instagram photo with a behind-the-scenes shot from set, seemingly kicking off production.

“Guess who’s back in the home #ReturnOfTheWeeLesbian,” Nicola captioned a close-up selfie of herself with her character Claire’s distinctive fringe and scrunchie pigtails.

While it was unclear if filming had begun, Nicola appeared to be dressed in costume (hey, maybe she just likes to dress up at home to get into character).
