Kim Kardashian’s Divorce From Kris Humphries

One of the shortest marriages to ever last in the celebrity world belonged to Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries. Late in 2010, the reality star and the NBA player started dating for the first time after it was reported that Kardashian had been seen courtside during one of Humphries’ games. According to MTV, the couple made their first public appearance together just a few days later in New York. The couple’s connection grew increasingly passionate over the course of the subsequent few months. Humphries popped the proposal during an episode of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” while the camera was rolling. The couple had only known each other for around seven months at the time. In August of 2011, Kardashian and Humphries tied the knot in a grandiose wedding that was also filmed for the reality television show they were both participating in at the time. The newlyweds went on their honeymoon to Italy, and the entire trip seemed like something out of a storybook. However, only a few weeks after their wedding, reports began to spread that the couple’s relationship was on the verge of breaking down.

I hope that everyone realizes that this was not a decision that was made lightly, “according to a statement released by Kardashian and obtained by the Daily Mail. TMZ has reported that the short-lived marriage that Kim Kardashian had with Kris Humphries may have been doomed from the very beginning. After the couple filed for divorce, sources close to the situation told the outlet that the couple hadn’t fully discussed what they expected out of their life and marriage after their extravagant wedding, including where they would live. This information was provided despite the fact that the couple had filed for divorce. According to some with knowledge of the situation, Humphries was dead-set on returning to his native state of Minnesota, and it was believed that Kardashian was on board with the idea. However, Kardashian has always considered herself a California girl, and she had no desire to move away from Los Angeles, which is where her whole family lived at the time. She was also under the impression that maintaining her presence in California would be beneficial to her professional life.

While the newlyweds were filming “Kourtney & Kim Take New York,” it was clear that the couple had opposing viewpoints on certain topics. In one of the scenes, Humphries shared with Kardashian his intention to settle down in Minnesota, which is his native state. “How am I going to make Minnesota my home and still have a successful career?” The question was posed by Kardashian to her recently wed spouse at the time. According to MTV, Humphries’s response was, “Baby, by the time you have kids and they’re in school, nobody would probably care about you.” Humphries’s comment was made in response to a question posed by Kardashian.

“The one thing that gets under my skin the most is when individuals suggest that my marriage was a sham. There are many aspects of that world that are not totally grounded in reality, for sure. But in reality, our connection was one hundred percent “genuine,” Humphries was honest enough to say. On the other hand, Kardashian has made it quite plain that she does not want to discuss the details of her prior marriage with the children that she shares with her soon-to-be-former spouse, Kanye West.
