Few would have expected in 2014 that a reasonably ordinary action picture starring an actor who had lately had a small run in unremarkable action films would become the genre’s premier franchise. Seven years later, the “John Wick” franchise is gearing up for its fourth movie, with Keanu Reeves well established as not merely the Internet’s favorite Hollywood figure, but also a resurrected box office powerhouse. The increasingly intricate plot of the world’s most animal-friendly assassin has been a great smash for Reeves, but it’s also swept up a slew of other stars, including Halle Berry, Laurence Fishburne, Ian McShane, and Anjelica Huston, in its cinematic trail.
Shamier Anderson is one of the most recent additions to the “John Wick” franchise. He got his start on TV, with roles on “Wynonna Earp” and “Goliath” that he played for long periods of time. He’s currently appearing in Apple TV+’s alien invasion series “Invasion,” in which he plays a Navy SEAL who is abandoned far from home when the otherworldly stuff hits the fan.
We recently spoke with Anderson about “Invasion,” as well as “John Wick 4” and whether or not the allegations regarding Keanu Reeves are genuine.
Shamier Anderson on niceness champion Keanu Reeves
If you needed any more proof that Anderson is ecstatic to be joining the mega-popular “John Wick” franchise, the actor is more than willing to provide it. He said, “I’m in Paris right now filming it.” “It’s simply… amazing. I’ll stop there. I love the series, and being a part of it and working with Keanu Reeves every day is incredible. I’m looking forward to showing it to the rest of the world. It’ll be a huge hit with everyone.”
What about working with Reeves, who has a reputation for being one of Hollywood’s most honest and kind guys, frequently showering employees with presents and overall being a stand-up dude?
If you had any doubts that the Internet was exaggerating Reeves’ coolness, Shamier Anderson is here to put them to rest. “Keanu Reeves is the kindest man on the planet Earth,” he asserted confidently.
When “John Wick 4” hits theatres on May 27, 2022, you’ll witness Shamier Anderson make his Wick-verse debut. Meanwhile, you can see him on Apple TV+ in the series “Invasion,” which has new episodes every Friday.
