The Challenge: All-Stars, a Paramount+ series based on MTV’s “The Challenge” game show, has become a successful spin-off. Previous “The Challenge” contestants compete against one another, with all of them having previously appeared on Paramount-produced reality shows. As a result, you may see contestants from “The Real World” competing against contestants from “Big Brother.” The field is then whittled down until only three contestants remain, with the winner getting a financial award as well as a trophy.
“The Challenge: All-Stars” pits previous “The Challenge” winners against each other in a competition to see who can win both physical and mental challenges. As in the original “The Challenge,” contestants are removed one by one until only one champion remains, who is awarded the reward and trophy.
Fans of the show will be pleased to learn that a third season of “The Challenge: All-Stars” will debut in 2022, thanks to a recent announcement by Paramount. So far, this is what we know.
When can we expect Season 3 of The Challenge: All-Stars?
During the fall of 2021, “The Challenge: All Stars Season 3” was shot (per Bustle). The new season, according to People Magazine, will premiere on Paramount+ on May 11 and will feature 24 competitors. There is currently no information about who will be participating in the program, what they will compete for, or what challenges they will face. It will, however, include “the most iconic, boldest, and fiercest challengers” yet, according to Entertainment Weekly.
The tasks in “All Stars Season 3” will test the participants’ “physical and emotional boundaries,” according to EW. We can confirm that at least one crew member will be back on the show in their regular role. T.J. Lavin, the show’s regular host, will once again serve as its shepherd, according to IMDb. For some supporters, this will undoubtedly bring a sense of comfort to the proceedings.
When and where will Season 3 of The Challenge: All-Stars air?
This season of “The Challenge: All-Stars” will take place in Panama, according to Entertainment Weekly and a teaser posted by MTV on Instagram. Since “The Challenge: The Island” was filmed on Panama’s Colón Island in 2008, this is the franchise’s second trip back to the country (per IMDb). This will be the first time “All-Stars” have visited Central America. Season 1 was shot in Argentina’s Andes Mountains, whereas Season 2 was shot in Cancn, Mexico, according to IMDb.
This is in keeping with Paramount’s trend of holding “All-Stars” competitions in warm, mountainous areas. It’s fascinating to contrast this choice of setting with “The Challenge’s” several places. Seasons were shot in Telluride, Colorado (“The Gauntlet”), Somerset West, South Africa (“The Challenge: The Inferno 3”), and Krabi, Thailand (“The Challenge: Invasion of Champions”).
The trailer for Season 3 of The Challenge: All-Stars leaves a lot to be desired.
At press time, there was no full trailer or public footage for the third season of “The Challenge: All-Stars.” Perhaps this is due to the fact that Paramount+ has yet to reveal the show’s cast, and the network would prefer to keep the identity of the cast members a secret. However, we do have a brief teaser clip, which was released on the show’s Instagram account on January 20 and can be seen above.
The brief trailer shows Lavin and reveals that the upcoming season will be set in Panama, as reported by Entertainment Weekly. In it, Lavin pledges that this season will be without punches as he turns to the camera and says, “Oh, you liked it? Just wait until you see what I’ve planned for the next.”
Indeed, whatever “The Challenge” has in store for viewers will most likely knock their socks off, but they’ll have to wait until the spring to find out how and by whom.
