Kirstin Maldonado graduated from Martin High School in 2010 and received a full-ride scholarship as a National Hispanic Scholar to study musical theatre at the University of Oklahoma.
In 2011, Maldonado was approached by Scott Hoying, a high school friend, who requested her to put together a group for NBC’s Cappella competition, The Sing-Off.

Kirstin Maldonado and Scott Alan played the song “Never Neverland” at the Hippodrome in London in May 2014. She performed ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’ at the ‘World Dog Awards‘ in January 2016, which honoured the canines that have played Toto in ‘The Wizard of Oz.’
In February 2016, she collaborated with the a cappella group Voctave on the video ‘Disney Love Medley,’ alongside her fiancé Jeremy Michael Lewis. The duo performed ‘I See the Light’ from ‘Tangled,’ ‘You’ll Be in My Heart’ from ‘Tarzan,’ and ‘Go the Distance’ from ‘Hercules,’ with backup vocals from Voctave members.
On May 19, 2017, she released her first solo song, ‘Break a Little,’ followed by her debut EP, ‘L O V E,’ on July 14, 2017. On August 31, that year, she released the track ‘Hey Guapo’ with Play-N-Skillz.
