Sidney Prescott is back, and she knows how to escape a horror film this time. But how about a hybrid remake/sequel of a famous horror film?

This weekend, Scream 5, or just Scream, hits cinemas. It takes set 25 years after the events of Wes Craven’s 1996 postmodern slasher film Scream, and it stars Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott, Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers, David Arquette as Dewey Riley, and Marley Shelton as Judy Hicks, among others.

This time, the notorious Ghostface mask is being worn by a new assailant, who is terrorizing a new generation of modern-day teenagers. Melissa Barrera, Mason Gooding, Jenna Ortega, and Jack Quaid have all joined the cast as new cast members. It’s a fresh take on a traditional meta-plot, and it’ll undoubtedly be a welcome addition to the franchise. Here’s all you need to know about Scream (2022), including where you can watch it and when it’ll be available to stream.

SCREAM 2022: WHERE CAN I WATCH IT?

Scream (2022) is now available to buy on digital platforms as of March 1, 2022. UPDATE (3/3/2022): As of March 1, 2022, Scream (2022) is now available to buy on digital platforms. Scream will be released on April 5 in 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD.

You may see Scream on Paramount+, the Paramount streaming service, once it has completed its theatrical run. A premium plan costs $9.99 per month, or a $5.99 per month ad-supported plan. Screams may also be rented on digital platforms such as Amazon Prime, iTunes, YouTube, Google Play, and others.

CAN WE EXPECT SCREAM 5 TO BE AIRED ON HBO MAX? ON HBO MAX, IS THE NEW SCREAM?

No. Because Scream is a Paramount film rather than a Warner Bros. film, it will not be available to watch on HBO Max when it hits cinemas. Furthermore, starting in 2022, HBO Max will stop streaming theatrical films. Last year, Warner Media chose to offer its theatrical slate on streaming at the same time that it was released in theatres, allowing HBO Max subscribers to watch Matrix Resurrections at home. Warner Bros. theatrical films, on the other hand, will have a 45-day run in cinemas before migrating to HBO Max this year.

SCREAM ON NETFLIX IS THE NEW SCREAM?

No. Scream isn’t on Netflix yet, and it isn’t expected to be anytime soon, given its move to Paramount+. Sorry!

WHEN IS SCREAM 5 GOING TO BE AVAILABLE ONLINE? SCREAM ON PARAMOUNT PLUS WHEN?

Scream will be available on Paramount+ after 30 to 45 days in cinemas, despite the fact that there is no official release date from Paramount. Last year, Paramount stated that after 30 days in cinemas, all of their films will be moved to Paramount+, with huge tentpoles getting 45 days. As a result, Scream on Paramount+ is expected to premiere in the second or third week of February 2022.
