At this moment augmented reality (AR) has become quite a popular technology, as we have seen Apple, Google and the likes of them are spending a lot of money and time developing and improving this technology further. Various tech companies, like Snap and Facebook, have also started offering interesting features using augmented reality to their users. For example, Facebook has recently announced that the social media platform is looking to make use of AR in Messenger.
Facebook made this announcement at the company’s F8 keynote. “We’re launching the ability for brands to integrate AR camera effects into their Messenger experience. This feature, launching in closed beta, helps people get valuable, instant feedback about purchases, and more,” stated Facebook.
“Developers will be able to build experiences that let people virtually customize or try on merchandise, walk through new products, or simply express themselves in a fun way,” added the company.
The companies that have joined hands with Facebook during the initial launch are Nike, ASUS, Kia, and Sephora.
