His older brother Chris, on the other hand, tragically died in a car accident. Bryan instead traveled to Statesboro, Georgia, after the family tragedy, to attend Georgia Southern University. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1999 and relocated to Nashville two years later.

Bryan went to work for a publishing business after arriving in Nashville. Writing songs for musicians like Travis Tritt and Billy Currington was his first job in the music industry. An A&R representative approached Bryan while he was performing in a club and offered him a deal with Capitol Records Nashville.

Bryan’s debut single, “All My Friends Say,” which he co-wrote with producer Jeff Stevens, reached No. 5 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. Bryan composed or co-wrote 11 out of the 12 songs on his debut album “I’ll Stay Me,” which was released in August 2007. The album’s songs “We Rode in Trucks” and “Country Man” respectively charted at No. 33 and No. 10. Bryan released his second album, “Doin’ My Thing,” in October 2009. In May 2015, he released “Kill the Lights,” his fifth studio album, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Bryan became the first artist in Billboard Country Airplay history to have six number-one singles from a single album when all six singles from “Kill the Lights” achieved No. 1 on the chart. Bryan released his sixth album, “What Makes You Country,” in December 2017.

Luke Bryan’s Personal Life

On December 8, 2006, Bryan married Caroline Boyer. Together, they have two boys. As previously stated, tragedy overtook Bryan’s family when his older brother was murdered in a vehicle accident when he was nineteen years old. In 2007, his older sister Kelly died tragically at the home of unknown circumstances, just days after organizing a group of friends to go see his debut at the Grand Ole Opry. Kelly’s husband Ben died in 2014 as if that wasn’t enough. Bryan and his wife began raising their nephew and two nieces as a result.
