Sergio Pérez’s Net Worth – $30 Million
Sergio Pérez has a net worth of $30 million and is a Mexican racing driver. Sergio Pérez (Mendoza) was born on January 26, 1990, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. He is also known as “Checo” Pérez. Sergio “Checo” Pérez initially drove a kart when he was six years old, but he was destined for a career in motorsport.
Before guiding the career of Indycar and sportscar driver Adrián Fernández, his father Antonio himself raced cars. Sergio began racing shifter karts at the age of nine and won several junior championships. With the support of Mexican business billionaire Carlos Slim’s Escuderia Telmex, he moved up to single-seater vehicles at the age of 14 and competed in the Skip Barber National Championship in the United States. In 2005, he traveled to Europe to race at Formula BMW, spending four months living in his team boss’s restaurant.
He moved to Oxford at the age of 17 to begin a two-year Formula 3 racing career in the United Kingdom. Pérez won the National Class (for older chassis) in 2007 and finished fourth in the International Class in 2008, before moving up to the Formula One feeder series GP2 via the GP2 Asia Series, where he won his first race in Bahrain lights-to-flag.
Sergio won races in GP2 in only his second year, placing second behind Pastor Maldonado at Monaco, Silverstone, Hockenheim, Spa-Francorchamps, and Abu Dhabi. Sergio became the first Mexican to race in the World Championship since Héctor Rebaque in 1981 when both drivers advanced to Formula 1.
Pérez made his Formula One debut in 2011 and quickly established himself as a tough contender, even challenging Fernando Alonso’s Ferrari for the lead in the Malaysian Grand Prix in 2012 and racing at the front at Monza. Perez’s helmet features a Mexican flag motif that varies seasonally.
