The Sonic franchise of SEGA undoubtedly includes some of the most widely famous familiar characters in the history of video games. While today’s gamers are more focused on the recent SEGA video game titles, it seems that a large number of them are a bunch of nostalgic people. According to the Japanese multinational video game developer and publisher, Sonic Mania has sold 1 million copies as of now.
For those, who don’t know yet, Sonic Mania is Sonic franchise’s newest installment. The game was initially released back in 2017. In place of choosing the contemporary route, SEGA kept it as a classic gaming title, like the time when the game was designed as a side-scroller in 2D. Originally the aim of developing this game was to commemorate the occasion of Sonic the Hedgehog turning 25.
Mostly, the game still goes like how the old Sonic games used to play years ago. It appears that this old charm has made its appeal to the nostalgic gamers and managed to sell more than 1 million copies of the game.
While SEGA has not mentioned the exact numbers, they have claimed that it includes various gaming platforms, on which the game was released, like PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One. If you haven’t already played the game, you should check it out. You may just love to re-live those good old days.
