You might remember that Instagram’s rainbow Pride feature and rainbow-colored hashtag phrases and hearts were first added in 2018. Since it’s coming back to Stories, you might need a reminder of how to get it.

How To Get Rainbow Story Ring On Instagram?

There are many ways to use a rainbow to light up your Story circle. First, you can use hashtags for Pride Month. The rainbow Story circle started in 2019 when Instagram worked with the non-profit GLAAD to find the hashtags that LGBTQ+ communities used, like #lgbtq, #bornperfect, #equalitymatters, and #accelerateacceptance. For 2022, the company also talked to the National Center for Transgender Equity (NCTE) to make sure the hashtag list is inclusive. #genderqueer, #gayvisibility, #twospirit, and #pride2022 are some new tags you can use. Even if you use these and a few other hashtags in IG Stories, the pink and orange ring around your Story icon will still turn into a rainbow.

Adding a Pride sticker is the second way to get all the colors on your Story ring. In the past, there have been Instagram Story stickers like cute cacti, a rainbow cassette tape, and more multicolored designs to show the diversity of LGBTQ+ communities.

To find the 2022 stickers, you must first make a Story and then click on the smiley face in the upper right corner. The three stickers will be at the top, under the word “Pride.” A June 1 Instagram post about the stickers said that Brooklyn-based illustrator Shanée Benjamin made them to “send a message of unity and joy.” “As a group, we go through so much,” she said. “If my sticker makes your story happier, that’s a win for me and for us both. ”
