The name of Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas’ surrogate daughter has been announced three months after she was born.
According to a birth certificate acquired by TMZ on Wednesday, April 20, the couple’s child has been named Malti Marie Chopra Jonas.
Malti was born in San Diego, California, shortly after 8 p.m. on January 15, according to the certificate. The meaning of her name is yet to be revealed, but according to numerous baby name websites, it means “little fragrant flower” or “moonlight.” Within the Hindi language and Indian cultures, it is frequently used.
Jonas, 29, and Chopra Jonas, 39, previously revealed that they are now parents on January 21 after keeping their family preparations a secret. “We are happy to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate,” the couple stated at the time on Instagram. “As we focus on our family, we politely request privacy during this wonderful time.” Thank you a lot.”
The couple, who married in India in December 2018, want “at least two children,” according to a source who spoke exclusively to Us Weekly at the time, adding that “friends [were] happy” for the new parents.

Prior to their daughter’s arrival, the Quantico alum and the Jonas Brothers member discussed their aspirations to create a family, with Chopra Jonas telling The Sunday Times in January 2021 that they wanted “as many [babies] as possible.”
“We’d be blessed with any child, son or girl or anything,” the “Jealous” singer told Extra the following month. I’m just crossing my fingers that it occurs…. I’m sure her mother will want to weigh in [on names], and I’m sure my family will.”
When his older brother Kevin Jonas and his wife Danielle Jonas welcomed daughter Alena, now 8, in 2014, the Texas native became an uncle. Two years later, the Married to Jonas stars welcomed daughter Valentina, who is now five years old.
Sophie Turner, Joe Jonas’ wife, gave birth to their first child, a baby girl named Willa, in July 2020. Prior to their daughter’s arrival, the pair didn’t confirm the 26-year-old Game of Thrones star’s pregnancy, and Joe, 32, waited nine months to announce publicly about his newborn girl.
“It’s been great,” the “Cake By the Ocean” singer said of parenthood in May 2021 on CBS This Morning. “[She’s] stunning!”

In November 2020, a source exclusively told Us that he and the X-Men: Dark Phoenix star, who married in May 2019 in Las Vegas, are “already trying to have another baby,” adding, “They’re incredibly happy to expand their family.” [Willa] has brought them closer together, and they want to start a family together.”
Turner and Joe are expecting their second child, Us reported in March.
While Joe and Turner have yet to publish a photo of their baby on social media, Kevin, 34, and Danielle, 35, often share photos of their girls. The former reality stars, who have been together since 2007, frequently share concert selfies and family holiday photos on social media.
Joe and Kevin both congratulated Nick on his pregnancy announcement, leaving heart emojis on his social media post.
