Recently several reports have claimed that Xiaomi is going to showcase its Mi Band 3 at the company’s 2018 annual product launch event. It is slated to be held at Shenzhen in China on May 31. Now, the senior vice president of the Chinese electronics giant Wang Xiang has finally taken to the Twitter to share the news that the fitness band will, indeed, be launched at the event along with Xiaomi Mi 8 and MIUI 10.
It has been rumored that during Xiaomi’s Black Shark gaming smartphone’s launch event the CEO of the tech giant Lei Jun was allegedly spotted wearing the new Mi Band 3 fitness tracker. Since that time only the speculations regarding the launch of the same started to do the rounds. Although a number of reports claimed that the Mi Band 3 is going to be unveiled by the end of this month, Xiaomi remained silent until now.

As per previous reports, Xiaomi’s upcoming fitness tracker will come equipped with a touchscreen display. It is also expected to have gesture-based actions, such as long-press, swiping up and down, for completing multiple tasks on it.
From the screenshots of the companion app, we have come to know that if the users tap on its display, it will let them switch between notifications and other features will be accessible via swiping actions. It had also revealed that users would be able to unlock the screen by swiping on it, like the smartphone screens.
As per the leak of the user manual of the Mi Band 3, it appears that the tracker may look a lot like its predecessor. Rumors have it that the fitness band will integrate an IP67 certified chassis and also a removable strap. It is likely that the device will include Bluetooth 4.2 support. It will also bring a number of health-related features, such as a heart rate sensor, sleep monitor and so on.
