In 2017, Ironmouse found solace in pursuing a career as a streamer after feeling lonely and wanting something to do. However, she was hesitant to reveal her real face online, and was inspired by the Japanese entertainer Kizuna AI, who was the first YouTuber to refer to herself as a “virtual YouTuber.” Following Kizuna AI’s lead, Ironmouse began streaming with a digital avatar to conceal her identity.
