Jerry Springer was born in London, England, during World War II to refugees escaping the Holocaust. He grew up in Queens, which is part of New York City. He went to Northwestern University School of Law to become a judge. In 1968, he got interested in politics for the first time when he worked for Robert Kennedy’s campaign. He was a titan of daytime television, overseeing the conflicts of countless marriages during his time on the air, but his personal life has been shielded from the spotlight. His ex-wife, Micki Velton, has also kept a low profile since their divorce.
All About Jerry And Micki’s Marriage And Divorce
Jerry reportedly met Micki Velton while she was working for Proctor and Gamble, and he was serving on the Cincinnati City Council. The two dated for a while before getting hitched in 1973. Despite Jerry’s scandalous past, the couple seemed to have a solid marriage, and they welcomed their daughter, Katie Springer, in 1976.
However, as Jerry’s broadcast career started to take off, and his name became synonymous with studio brawls and outrageous “too hot for TV” behavior, his marriage came to an end. Jerry and Micki shared one daughter together, Katie Springer. Celebsuburb says that Katie was born in 1976 and that she is both deaf and blind. She is said to work as a teacher in Chicago. In 2006, she did an interview with Access Hollywood in which she praised the way her parents raised her.
Katie Springer is married to Adam Yenkin, and she has a son, though little is known about her life. She is fiercely loyal to her father and has defended him against critics. In the same interview, she said, “I will stand up to anyone verbally who attacks my dad because he’s wonderful. Honestly, it’s a shame he wasn’t born in America because he would make one hell of a president.”

Know About Jerry’s Activism
Jerry Springer was not afraid of the camera or the microphone, especially when it came to talking about issues he believed in. In 2021, he was on the HollywoodLife show, where he criticized the restrictive Texas abortion law and called the U.S. Supreme Court “gutless and disrespectful” for not staying or overturning the 6-week ban.
After he was on The Masked Singer in October 2022, Jerry also talked to HollywoodLife. He said, “I’ve embarrassed myself before, so I wasn’t worried about the song. Just as well as I could, I would sing the song. I was really worried about how I would move on stage with the outfit, but they were so clever. All of the people who work on that show are so skilled. I think that’s the most exciting thing of all: being around so many talented people, not just famous people, but talented people as well. Most of us don’t get to do that every day, so it’s kind of cool.”
