Dave was a great guy who loved his family, his students, and his friends very much. We were together for a lot of hours. I was moved by his kindness, sensitivity, energy, enthusiasm, honesty when talking about his problems, love for his children, and commitment to helping others.

During the year we worked together as teachers, I can’t tell you how many times the depth and wisdom of what he shared moved me and our students to tears. I liked our funny conversations, the way he taught, and the many belly’s laughs and ambitious plans we came up with together. Last month, when I went to see him in the hospital, I found out he had heart problems.
When he was freed, my friends and I could tell him how much we liked him. He had no doubt that everyone loved him. It looks like the heart problems kept happening.
