Emma Raducanu MBE born 13 November 2002 is a professional tennis player from the United Kingdom. The Women’s Tennis Association WTA gave her a career-high ranking of No. 11 on April 25, 2022, and she is currently the British No. 1. Raducanu is the current US Open champion and the first British woman to win a Grand Slam singles championship since Virginia Wade did so in 1977 at Wimbledon.

Raducanu made her Grand Slam debut at the 2022 French Open, defeating first-time Grand Slam qualifier and fellow youngster Linda Nosková in the first round. In the second round, she was defeated in three sets by Aliaksandra Sasnovich.
Raducanu began her grass season in the 2022 Nottingham Open, where she lost in the first round to Viktorija Golubic. However, she was forced to withdraw from the event after only 33 minutes due to injury, resulting in a walkover. At the moment of her retirement, she was 4-3 down in the opening set of the match.
