Anyone who saw “Big Sky’s” pilot can attest to the fact that this is a show that isn’t hesitant to take risks. The show appears to be about two detectives, Cody Hoyt (Ryan Phillippe) and Cassie Dewell (Kylie Bunbury), who not only solve cases but also develop a romantic relationship. Things get complicated when Cody’s ex-wife, Jenny (Katheryn Winnick), is still involved and works for Cody’s firm as a freelance detective.

It appears to be a regular thriller series, but everything is turned upside down when Cody is murdered in the first episode. Anyone who was watching at the moment was taken aback, given Ryan Phillippe’s celebrity. The idea that the show’s entire dynamic might flip in instantly enthralled viewers.

Before the first season concluded, the show was renewed for a second season, promising even more twists and turns. The following events will take place in Season 2 of “Big Sky.”

When will Season 2 of Big Sky be released?

Season 1 of “Big Sky,” like many other shows at the time, premiered in November 2020. Many productions were halted as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and instead of new seasons of popular shows premiering in September, as is customary, they were pushed back to November and December. If no further delays occur in 2021, “Big Sky” should be released in September 2021, as has been the case in the past.

Positions behind the scenes at ABC have already been filled in a variety of ways. Elwood Reid will take over as showrunner for Season 2 of “Big Sky” (via Deadline). Reid joined “Big Sky” as an executive producer halfway through Season 1, but David E. Kelley, the creator of “Ally McBeal” and “Big Little Lies,” will now take over as showrunner. Kelley will continue to work on the picture as an executive producer.

Big Sky Season 2 - All We Should Know So Far

Who will appear in Big Sky Season 2?

Season 2 of “Big Sky” will almost definitely feature the same cast as Season 1.

Kylie Bunbury and Katheryn Winnick will resume their roles unless anything unforeseen happens in the meantime. Their characters had gone through a lot together in the first season, going from shaky foundations to people who actually rely on one another. Season 2 will be interesting to see how their relationship is put to the test.

Ryan Phillippe’s character was killed off early in the show’s run, although he could return in a flashback or vision. Obviously, none of this is confirmed, as no official word on Phillippe’s future participation in the program has been released, but keep an eye out for it.

Other actors who potentially appear in subsequent episodes of the show include John Carroll Lynch, Brian Geraghty, Ted Levine, and Dedee Pfeiffer. Michelle Pfeiffer, Pfeiffer’s sister, is married to David E. Kelley, the show’s creator.

Big Sky Season 2 - All We Should Know So Far

Season 2 of Big Sky has a plot, but what is it?

Throughout the first season of “Big Sky,” Cassie and Jenny are on the lookout for the guys responsible for a series of abductions in Montana, as well as Cody’s death. They may not get along at first, but they finally put their differences aside to bring Cody’s story to a conclusion.

Cassie and Jenny have gone through a lot together, and while there are no plot details for Season 2 yet, it’s safe to assume they’ll be dealing with yet another mystery. Huge Sky Country is a vast area teeming with robbers and assassins. In Season 2, Cassie and Jenny are likely to become a detective team, solving problems that the police are unable to solve.
