There are many obscure programs with original concepts, ranging from the bizarre to the downright bizarre, yet anime may be best known for immensely successful shonen series like “Naruto” or equally legendary shoujo series like “Sailor Moon”. The furious gambling-centered anime series “Kakegurui” is one of the most outlandish titles available on Netflix right now.
“Kakegurui” follows pupils at a prominent school where gambling is the means to rise in power and regard rather than grades or athletics — and losers who go into debt have to serve the winning students. Although Season 1 launched in 2017 and Season 2 in 2019, a third season has not yet been released. Hopefully, “Kakegurui” fans will be able to watch further seasons of the dark series now that Netflix has taken on more original anime projects.

In the meanwhile, let’s examine the conclusion of “Kakegurui” Season 2 and speculate about what the future could hold for the pupils.
A vote was made.
The entirety of Season 2’s “Kakegurui xx” episode, which is dedicated to electing a new student body president at Hyakkaou Private Academy after the dominant Kirari Momobami (played by Miyuki Sawashiro), resigns from her position, is focused on this election. And why exactly is the election so important? A change in the leadership might fundamentally alter the lives of the students — depending on the winner. Kirari, the patriarch of the Momobami family and president of the school, contributed to the development of the present social hierarchy and “pet” system.
We get familiar with the election’s procedures thru “Kakegurui xx,” which is controlled by the election committee. The contestants have the possibility to acquire chips during the 30-day election period, however, they are worth votes rather than money. The person with the most chips at the end of the 30 days wins and is the new president. The more bets a person wins, the more vote chips (and consequently votes) they get.
Naturally, the vicious Kirari delights in observing the turmoil as the students engage in outlandish gambling contests with the aim of winning the presidency. Although all of the students have a chance to compete, some of the main competitors include the series’ protagonist Yumeko Jabami (Saori Hayami), the kind former house pet Ryota Suzui (Tatsuya Tokutake), the once-cruel but intelligent Mary Saotome, and the business-savvy Itsuki Sumeragi (Yuki Wakai).
Uncertain coin toss
Due to its ambiguous finish, the “Kakegurui xx” season finale left many viewers perplexed. A few of the last students running for office participate in a high-stakes auction in Episode 11, “The X Girl,” in an effort to garner more votes. Yuriko Nishinotouin (Karin Nanami), Midari Ikishima (Mariya Ise), and Rei Batsubami (Romi Pak) join Yumeko, Mary, and Ryota in the game, and it is ultimately discovered that Rei was cheating the entire time.
Rei’s strategy was unsuccessful, which caused her to lose every vote. Yumeko, feeling sorry for her, suggests one more test and urges Rei to take the risk personally. Ririka Momobami, Kirari’s identical twin sister (played by Miyuki Sawashiro), proposes a coin flip, in which Rei wagers 3 billion Yen and Yumeko wagers her family name, all of equal worth.

In the end, Yumeko wins both the coin toss and the prize. As opposed to what was first anticipated, Rei ends up being freed from her figurative chains by Kirari, who is moved by Rei’s courage. Yumeko, on the other hand, keeps playing the slots for entertainment purposes and eventually loses most of her vote chips.
What does this imply for the next election at the Hyakkaou Private Academy? What family does Rei now belong to? Who truly prevails? Before we obtain the answers, it can take some time.
