Dan Bilzerian was born in Tampa, Florida, on December 7, 1980. Paul Bilzerian, Dan’s father, was a well-known private equity and business acquisition specialist in the 1980s. Dan has Armenian ancestors because his father is Armenian. By the age of 36, Paul Bilzerian had acquired a self-made fortune of $40 million. In 1988, Paul was arrested and accused with tax and security fraud. Dan was eight years old at the time. Bilzerian eventually sued the creators of Lone Survivor, stating that he loaned the company $1 million in exchange for at least 8 minutes of screen time and 80 words of dialogue. In his complaint, he demanded $1.2 million, which included the original loan amount plus 20%.
