Tyson spent the majority of his childhood in and around high-crime areas. In a previous interview, he stated that his first battle was with a larger youth who had taken one of his pigeons’ heads off.

Tyson was frequently caught committing crimes, and by the age of 13, he had already been arrested 38 times. He ended himself at Johnstown’s Tryon School for Boys, where he dropped out of high school.

Career

Tyson made his professional boxing debut when he was 18 years old. He had previously competed in the Junior Olympics as an amateur.

You’ve surely heard Douglas’ story about his mother dying before the fight after telling everyone that her son would beat Mike Tyson.

Douglas was able to go through more rounds with Tyson than anyone else had ever done before, and once there, he realized that Tyson began to lose energy and endurance rapidly after the 5th or 6th round.

Tyson was the first heavyweight boxer to hold the WBA, WBC, and IBF titles at the same time, and the only heavyweight to do so twice. He is still regarded as one of the greatest boxers of all time.

However, his image was severely tarnished after he was convicted of rape and sentenced to six years in prison. After his prison time, he attempted a comeback, but it was short-lived.
