She has been serving as the Prime Minister of Finland since 2019 and has been a member of Parliament for the Social Democratic Party of Finland (SDP) since 2015. In 2020, she also became the leader of the SDP. Following the 2023 Finnish parliamentary election, where the SDP placed third, Marin’s government officially resigned on April 6, 2023.
