Daniel was born in Detroit, Michigan but he grew up in Duluth, Minnesota. In 2008, Daniel got his degree from MSAD. He then went to RIT in Rochester, New York, and Gallaudet in Washington, DC. Daniel moved to Los Angeles in 2012 so he could be in the Deaf West production of Cyrano. As Daniel’s acting career took off, he won a lot of praise for his leading roles in “Police: Deaf: Near Far” at Terp Theater and “Flowers for Algernon” at Deaf West.

After the “Spring Awakening” Exploratory Workshop with director Michael Arden, Daniel was asked to join the cast of “Spring Awakening,” first in L.A. and then in the off-Broadway production in Beverly Hills.
Daniel made his Broadway debut in 2015, and in 2016 he played the co-lead role of Moritz in “Spring Awakening,” which got rave reviews from the New York Times, National Public Radio, BBC, and more.
