Ranger Suárez was born in Carora, Venezuela, on August 26, 1995. He is a pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball.
As a free agent from another country, Suárez signed with the Phillies in April 2012. In his first year in the minor leagues, he played for the DSL Phillies. Over three games, he pitched five innings and no runs were scored.

Ranger Suarez Professional Life
In 2012, Suárez signed as an international free agent with the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball (MLB) for a signing bonus of $25,000.
When he was sixteen, the Venezuelan Summer League (VSL) Phillies hired him to play professional baseball. Ranger was the team’s closer and pitched in three games. In five innings, Suárez got four outs by striking out and saved two runs. Minor League Baseball ended Suárez’s season in July after they found out he had broken the rules about using drugs (MiLB).
In 2018, Suárez was sent to the Double-A Reading Fightin’ Phils, where he started with Romero, Kilome, and Seranthony Dominguez.
After a rain delay forced the Phillies to play two games against the San Diego Padres, they needed an extra starter. Suárez was called up to the major leagues on July 24, 2018.
According to MLB.com, Suárez went back to Lehigh in 2019 as the No. 10 prospect in the Phillies organization. After a good 2019 season, it was thought that Suárez would be a good choice for the Phillies’ starting rotation in 2020.

Suárez helped seal the series win in game five of the 2022 National League Championship Series against the San Diego Padres. David Robertson was taken out of the game by Suárez in the top of the ninth inning. After getting the first batter out, Robertson walked the next two. On Suárez’s first pitch, Trent Grisham hit a bunt. Suárez caught the ball and threw out Grisham, which let the runners go to second and third base. Suárez was up against Austin Nola with two outs. Nick Castellanos caught a fly ball hit by Nola on the first pitch. This gave the Cubs a 4–3 win over the Padres.
