Grand Army has been available on Netflix from October 16, 2020, giving Netflix plenty of time to approve a second season, even in COVID-19. However, Netflix has failed to do so, leaving fans to worry if the show will ever return. On Twitter, some users are becoming impatient. Some have threatened to leave Netflix if the series, which follows five diverse kids at a major high school in Brooklyn, does not receive a second season.
Grand Army’s nine episodes have focused on terrorism, politics, pranks, family concerns, culture clashes, drug problems, sexual assault, and other current teen topics, and are based on Katie Cappiello’s play Slut, for which she also serves as showrunner.
It’s already sparked some controversy, with three black writers quitting due to “racial exploitation and abuse” on-site, according to Ming Pfeiffer (via Twitter). Despite the fact that the series has a devoted following, the show’s reception has been divided.

According to IndieWire, the programme revolves around a white protagonist and slips into clichés while attempting to be relevant to Generation Z. All of this suggests that its comeback is a possibility, but not a foregone conclusion.

When will Grand Army season 2 be available?
Grand Army can’t start filming until a second season has been cleared, and there’s no way of knowing when that will happen if it does. Even if Season 2 is greenlit today, and all the steps to reuniting the cast and getting the programme back on track are taken, the show may not return for a time.
The show was taped between May and September 2019 in Toronto and New York, according to Cinemaholic. After that, it took around another 13 months to get on Netflix. Hopefully, the second time will be quicker, but you never know. It will most likely take much longer because a new platform is required. The programme is unlikely to air until 2023, if at all.
Who will be in the second season of the Grand Army?
There isn’t an official cast list yet because Season 2 hasn’t been announced. Despite this, all five key characters from the first season have indicated an interest in returning. “We’re ready,” Amalia Yoo said in an Entertainment Weekly group interview on October 17th. They didn’t know if the show would return at the moment, but they were all hoping Netflix would listen. Netflix still has the ball.
Joey Del Marco, who also appears in the source material Slut, is played by Odessa A’zion.
Dominique Pierre is played by Odley Jean, a Haitian first-generation student. Siddhartha Pakam is a homosexual Indian student on the swim team, and Amir Bageria plays him. Maliq Johnson portrays Spanish Harlem’s Jayson Jackson, a musical prodigy. Amalia Yoo plays Leila Kwan Miller, a Chinese adolescent adopted by Jewish parents.
“It means being correctly, authentically depicted,” Bageria remarked in a short Netflix interview broadcast to Twitter. Added A’zion: “I’m hoping that people would realise that there is always someone going through anything… You aren’t the only one who feels this way. However, do not minimise the challenges of others.”
The performers clearly believe in the show’s relevance, and it would be astonishing if any of them turned down the opportunity to return.
Because their tales haven’t necessarily been finished, you may expect a lot of the supporting characters to return. Some of the cast members include Alphonso Romero II, Ashley Granger, Jaden Jordan, August Blanco Rosenstein, and Zac Kara.
What will Grand Army season 2’s plot be?
Several stories, including the repercussions of Joey’s sexual assault, remained unanswered at the end of Season 1.
Tim (Thelonious Serrell-Freed) may turn on George (Anthony Ippolito) and Luke (Brian Altimus) in order to disclose their crimes to the authorities. Fans should also learn more about Dom’s internship and relationship with John (Romero), Sid’s Harvard journey and relationship with Victor (Rosenstein) after being outed inadvertently, and whether Leila (Yoo), who sent an anonymous email threatening to bomb the school, will face any consequences once that information is revealed. A second season should also look at how Jay’s quiet protest at a performance in support of best buddy Owen may affect his future.
